Some Technological Advances and What They Mean

Technology is one of the fundamental aspects in all activities on earth. Some will argue that the human species has been on earth for thousands of years and the technology has not changed much.

There are examples of technological advancements. We have all used wheeled vehicles, powered by a gasoline engine. They have changed life immensely, when compared to the old ways.
Other technological advancements are more advanced. Computers have become quite commonplace. Internet, mobile phones, and wireless communications, etc.
With technology comes a lot of benefits, like computers; good transportation for cars and trucks, reducing pollution and helping to reduce congestion in the modern world. People have made significant contributions in this process. But technology can also be dangerous and destructive, if used incorrectly.
Good transportation is one way to reduce the pollution produced by cars. Other transportation solutions such as buses, railways, and airplanes, have also helped. Roads were not always a problem. Modern roads and highways were created to speed up traffic, as well as improve the environment.
Other technological changes are not good for the time scale of the humans on earth. Biotechnology is one example. If humans had created a new species, their life cycle would have to adapt to it. There would be a whole new set of problems.
Another example of technological change is the advances in computers. Even though there was a point when computers were not commonly used, they have now come into the world. We still use computers, though not as often as we used to. The same goes for laser and camera technologies.
Social technological advancements have allowed us to travel farther than we could without them. This gives us an advantage in the economy. This allows for people to live closer to work, and for businesses to expand.
Technological advances have also caused an increase in crime. Crimes such as drug dealing and murder have increased dramatically in countries with technology. With technology, the level of violence has increased. For example, if you commit a robbery with a gun, it is now easier to do, because people can more easily get guns and carry them, and store them.
Technological advancements have given people access to other countries and cultures, such as the Internet. Because the internet is so easy to use, it is even more desirable.
Technology changes things in the world, and it is vital that people adapt to these changes. It does not make the world a better place, but it can bring some benefits to the world if it is well managed.
